HB 2270 Summary

• Allows a court to order that persons convicted of a covered offense on July 1, 2020, and thereafter shall not reside, permanently or temporarily, within 500 feet of any public or private school, child care facility, playground, or park where children may gather.

• Applies to sex offenders and offenders against minors as defined under Hawaii Revised Statutes section 846E-1.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2050.
