HI HB2403

Repeals the provision designating all election days (except primary and special election days) as state holidays in the county where elections are held.

Creates a new paid leave provision allowing employees 8 hours of paid leave every even-numbered year during normal business hours on a day previously agreed upon with their employer.

Paid leave does not count against vacation or sick leave benefits and cannot adversely interfere with work unit operations or require agencies to incur costs for additional staff or overtime.

Limits employees to no more than 8 hours of paid leave under this provision during any two calendar year period.

Takes effect upon approval.
