HI HB2512

Authorizes the Department of Land and Natural Resources to delegate archaeological reviews of proposed projects to qualified archaeologists employed by counties, upon request by the county, the project applicant (with county concurrence), or by agreement between the county and state.

Deems proposed projects automatically approved by the state historic preservation division if the archaeological review is not completed within thirty calendar days.

Provides that challenges to archaeological reviews are subject to expedited hearings before the Hawaii Supreme Court.

Applies to projects involving permits, licenses, certificates, land use changes, subdivisions, or other entitlements that may affect historic properties, aviation artifacts, or burial sites.

Takes effect on July 1, 2050.
