HB 2669 - Active Duty Military Entitlements

• Requires military personnel called to active duty in Hawaii to be paid without delay from the date of deployment at the same rate as their active duty counterparts.

• Entitles officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel of the Army, Air National Guard, Hawaii State Defense Force, and Navy to basic allowance for housing when ordered to active duty, subject to rules adopted by the governor.

• Allows direct deposit of military pay by electronic means to personal banking accounts for all eligible military personnel.

• Provides service credit toward public pension and retirement for military personnel serving on state-ordered active duty who are also current state or county employees.

• Effective date: July 1, 2020.
