Appropriates $400,000 from general revenues for fiscal year 2020-2021 to fund seven full-time equivalent positions in the Office of Maunakea Management at the University of Hawaii.

Adds positions including one resources specialist, one geographic information systems database specialist, one resources technician, one permitting and compliance officer, one community outreach coordinator, one communication and web manager, and one social media technician.

Addresses increased ecosystem impact and resource strain from growing tourist and recreational visitor numbers on Maunakea public land.

Supports the Office of Maunakea Management's mandate to protect the mountain's cultural, natural, and scientific resources through research, invasive species control, cultural site protection, and native vegetation restoration.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
