Increase the fireworks display permit fee from $110 to $300 for aerial devices, display fireworks, and articles pyrotechnic under Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 132D-10(2)

The display permit authorizes licensed pyrotechnicians to conduct outdoor and close proximity fireworks for public or private events, theatrical productions, or movie purposes

The permit fee has remained unchanged for 16 years while administrative processing, review, and approval costs have increased

Consumer firecracker permits remain at $25 and consumer fireworks for cultural uses outside prescribed periods remain at $25

Effective date is January 1, 2020
