Appropriates $1,000,000 in general obligation bonds for fiscal year 2019-2020 to the Department of Land and Natural Resources for design and construction of one exploratory well for the proposed Kunia Wells IV pump station on Oahu.

Funds are intended to provide additional potable water supply for growth including diversified agriculture to support Oahu farmers impacted by stricter FDA Food Safety Modernization Act water quality standards.

Board of Water Supply agreed to pass benefits from this well to offset capacity impact fees for new farmers, supporting the local agricultural industry on Oahu.

Appropriation does not lapse at end of fiscal biennium but any unencumbered funds lapse as of June 30, 2022.

Act takes effect July 1, 2019.
