Creates a new Class A felony offense for financial exploitation of elders by caregivers when the total value of money, assets, or property taken exceeds $50,000.

Defines prohibited conduct to include taking or misappropriating an elder's money, real property, or personal property without authorization; breaching fiduciary duty; or using coercion, manipulation, threats, intimidation, misrepresentation, or undue influence.

Applies to "caregivers," defined as any person with temporary or permanent care, custody, physical control, supervision, or legal/contractual duty for the health, safety, and welfare of an elder.

Defines "elder" as a person age 60 or older.

Effective July 1, 2019.
