H.B. 788 - Statewide Traffic Code Summary

• Adds new section to Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 291C requiring vehicles to display current, valid registration tags or emblems affixed per section 249-7(c) and current, valid inspection stickers affixed per section 286-26(e)

• Authorizes law enforcement officers to issue citations to drivers operating vehicles without proper registration tags/emblems or inspection stickers

• Penalties for violations apply penalties prescribed in section 286-25 or 286-61, as applicable

• Effective date is July 1, 2050

• Does not affect rights, duties, penalties, or proceedings that occurred before the effective date
