Amends Section 703-304 of Hawaii Revised Statutes to add a new justification for use of deadly force when an actor is in their own dwelling and another person remains unlawfully present in that dwelling with an imminent threat of physical harm, bodily injury, or assault.

Changes language in the existing deadly force statute from "himself" to "the actor" to use gender-neutral terminology.

Maintains the original justification allowing deadly force to protect against death, serious bodily injury, kidnapping, rape, or forcible sodomy.

Takes effect upon approval and does not affect rights, duties, or proceedings that occurred before the effective date.
