• Designates April as Tree Awareness Month in Hawaii to increase public awareness of the value and benefits of trees

• Acknowledges trees' environmental benefits including reducing carbon footprint, cleaning air, removing pollutants, providing oxygen, and cooling streets and buildings up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit

• Recognizes trees' positive effects on human health, productivity, and property values, as well as their importance to Hawaii's tourism-based economy and agricultural industries

• Notes efforts by community organizations including Trees for Honolulu's Future, Healthy Climate Communities, Smart Trees Pacific, and Outdoor Circle to increase tree knowledge and awareness
