Urges all commercial airlines operating in Hawaii to thoroughly clean and disinfect aircraft between flights to prevent the spread of illnesses and diseases, including COVID-19

Notes that the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport handles approximately 850 flights and 57,534 passengers per day

States that disease transmission via surface contact on aircraft is preventable using low-cost, readily-accessible cleaning supplies such as sanitary wipes and disinfectant spray

Requires certified copies of the resolution be sent to the Governor, Director of Transportation, Director of Health, Deputy Director for Airports, and Presidents/CEOs of 24 commercial airlines including Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and others
