Request that the Public Utilities Commission protect the public interest when reviewing any potential acquisition of Hawaii Gas by an external buyer.

Require the PUC to determine whether a prospective buyer would serve the best interests of Hawaii's economy and communities served by Hawaii Gas.

Direct the PUC to assess whether a prospective buyer would provide significant, quantifiable benefits to Hawaii Gas ratepayers in both the short and long term.

Require evaluation of whether the proposed transaction demonstrates commitment to transitioning to renewable natural gas and upholding the State's clean energy and decarbonization goals by 2045.

Transmit a certified copy of the resolution to the Chairperson of the Public Utilities Commission.
