Requests the Department of Transportation expedite work on the Maipalaoa Bridge in Maili, Oahu, which was last reconstructed in 1970 and is severely deteriorated.

Notes that Performance Systems Inc. abandoned the Maipalaoa Bridge project in 2017 after completing only 5 percent, with a new contractor hired and estimated completion pushed to spring 2022.

Urges the Department of Transportation to seriously consider implementing overnight road work to expedite the Maipalaoa Bridge repairs.

Urges the State of Hawaii, City and County of Honolulu, federal entities, and private landowners to immediately open the section of the Waianae Coast Emergency Access Road System extending Paakea Road to Lualualei Naval Road as a permanent secondary access route to the Waianae Coast.

Cites traffic congestion, delayed emergency response times, and safety concerns on Farrington Highway as justification for an alternate route, particularly since the highway is undergoing contraflow lane reductions during bridge construction.
