Congratulates the Kauai County Planning Department for receiving the 2019 Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan, the most prestigious National Planning Excellence Award from the American Planning Association.

Recognizes the department's receipt of the 2018 Outstanding Planning Award from the Hawaii Chapter of the American Planning Association for the Kauai Kākou: Kauai County General Plan.

Acknowledges the general plan as a twenty-year guiding policy document for Kauai County that directs sustainable growth and addresses ten topical sectors including watershed, housing, transportation, infrastructure, economy, heritage resources, energy sustainability, and public safety.

Notes the plan embodies the Hawaiian concept "Kauai Kākou" (meaning "we're all in this together") by promoting collaboration among government agencies, civic leaders, nonprofit groups, and the community.
