Urges the University of Hawaii System and Department of Education to include training, courses, and curriculum on mechanics, repair, and maintenance of electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, and other alternative fuel vehicles in school programs.

Notes that Hawaii has over 10,000 electric vehicles on the road and ranks in the top five states nationally for electric vehicle adoption by percentage of vehicles purchased.

Highlights that only 3 percent of automotive technicians currently have the skillset to work on electric vehicles, despite the growing adoption of these vehicles across the state.

States that transportation accounts for over two-thirds of oil imported into Hawaii, with drivers spending approximately $2 billion annually on gasoline and diesel fuel.

Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the President of the University of Hawaii System, Chairperson of the Board of Education, and Superintendent of Education.
