Urges the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu and the Honolulu City Council to install and maintain a new camera system in the Downtown and Chinatown areas

Notes that the Chinatown Historic District is one of the oldest Chinatowns in the United States and that crimes including drug dealing, robbery, and purse snatching are plaguing the area

Cites specific incidents including a sports reporter beaten into a coma in June 2018 on Maunakea Street, a 50-year-old man robbed at knifepoint in October 2019, and an 80-year-old woman's bag snatched in December 2019

Identifies that existing cameras monitoring the Chinatown area currently do not work

Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Mayor, Honolulu City Council Chair, Honolulu Police Chief, and Chair of the Downtown-Chinatown Neighborhood Board
