• Establishes a Child Welfare Services Task Force within the Department of Human Services to review the Child Welfare Services Branch and examine best practices for improving child care safety.

• Task force composition includes the DHS Director (chair), CWS Branch Administrator, representatives from county police departments, Attorney General's office, and a resource caregiver, foster youth, biological parent, and social worker appointed by DHS.

• Task force duties include requesting worker input on workplace changes, securing additional state matching funds for federal funding, evaluating child abuse investigations, and determining methods to improve worker recruitment and retention.

• Task force must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2020 regular session convening.

• Task force terminates on June 30, 2020; Act takes effect July 1, 2050.
