Abolish the board of health, which the legislature finds no longer adds value to Department of Health operations given the breadth and complexity of modern public health issues.

Remove the board of health from Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 26-13, which currently describes it as an advisory board within the Department of Health consisting of eleven voting members appointed by the governor.

Eliminate the board of health from the list of boards required to provide training to members under Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 10-41.

Remove references to the board of health from Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 321-5 definitions related to public health personnel and health departments.

Take effect upon approval.
