Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 706-606.5(1) to add Section 709-906(7), (8), or (9) (abuse of a family or household member) to the list of class C felonies qualifying for mandatory minimum sentencing for repeat offenders.

Individuals convicted of abuse of a family or household member with prior felony convictions for specified crimes become eligible for mandatory minimum imprisonment without possibility of parole.

Renumbers subsequent felony categories in the statute from (z) through (ff) to accommodate the new provision.

Takes effect upon approval and does not affect rights, duties, or proceedings that began before the effective date.
