HI SB2206

Authorizes the Board of Land and Natural Resources to issue month-to-month revocable permits for temporary emergency sheltering and facilities for homeless persons on state lands.

Permits are exempt from chapter 171, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and may only be issued to persons with written agreements or partnerships with the State or political subdivisions.

Requires prior written agreement from the Department of Agriculture before permits can be issued for lands under its control or management.

Permit holders must endeavor to meet all applicable state and county requirements, or demonstrate good faith planning and progress toward compliance or seek alternative locations for long-term sheltering.

Repeals 90 days after the last day of the disaster emergency relief period specified in the Governor's final supplementary proclamation relating to the COVID-19 emergency.
