HI SB2266

Prohibits registered sex offenders from residing within 2,000 feet (measured by radius from property center) of their victim's or the victim's immediate family member's residence, either permanently or temporarily.

Defines "immediate family member" as the victim's spouse, child, parent, and grandparent.

Requires covered offenders to obtain approval from the Attorney General prior to any change of address.

Exempts victims or their immediate family members from violating the restriction if they move within 2,000 feet of an offender's established residence after the offender's residency was established, unless the offender commits a new covered offense afterward.

Effective date: August 26, 2050.
