Prohibits manufacture, possession, sale, barter, trade, gift, transfer, or acquisition of detachable ammunition magazines with capacity exceeding ten rounds for all firearm types.

Exempts magazines legally possessed by individuals prior to the effective date of the Act and allows possession of pre-Act magazines by inheritance only.

Prohibits sale, barter, trade, gift, or transfer of large-capacity magazines except through inheritance.

Authorizes law enforcement agencies and officers to possess and use large-capacity magazines for official purposes.

Violation of the large-capacity magazine prohibition is a misdemeanor, or a Class C felony if the magazine is inserted into a firearm at the time of possession.
