SB 2547 Summary

• Hawaii Natural Energy Institute must conduct a feasibility study on the state's ability to achieve 100% renewable energy electricity production by December 31, 2045.

• If the 100% renewable energy goal is not achievable, the study shall estimate what percentage is realistically achievable by December 31, 2045.

• Hawaii Natural Energy Institute must submit a report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2021 regular session convenes.

• Effective date is July 1, 2020.
