HI SB2720

Prohibits state agencies from using state funds to purchase beverages in plastic bottles or rigid plastic containers, effective July 1, 2050.

Allows exceptions for public health emergencies, hazardous water conditions, the licensed blind vendor program, water purchases for wildland firefighters, and large public events where no reasonable alternatives exist.

Defines "state agency" as any department, division, agency, office, board, commission, bureau, or council of the State.

Defines "state funds" to include money from the state treasury, special funds, and any appropriated money transferred to state agencies for purchasing goods or services.

Amends Chapter 342H, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to retitle Part III as "Plastic Containers."
