• Exemption period is limited to two days before the sporting event, the event duration, and two days after the event, not to exceed 10 days per event, with board discretion to grant up to 20 additional days per event (maximum 30 days per calendar year total).

• Restricts out-of-state physicians from providing care to non-team members or practicing medicine at any Hawaii healthcare facility; applies only to physicians with current, active licenses in good standing in another jurisdiction.

• Defines eligible recipients as sports team members, including team personnel (coaching, medical, equipment, communications staff), accompanying band or dance team members, and mascots.
