Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes section 707-711 to add health care security professionals to the list of protected workers under assault in the second degree statutes.

Defines "health care security professional" as an individual employed by a health care facility who has received training or certification specifically designed for health care security and safety.

Classifies intentional or knowing bodily injury to a health care security professional engaged in performance of duty at a health care facility as a class C felony.

Establishes that health care security professionals are at increased risk of workplace violence and play a critical role in health care settings despite being unarmed and not laying hands on patients unless directed by clinical staff.

Effective date: January 2, 2050.
