Allows Public Utilities Commission members who reside in counties other than the City and County of Honolulu to receive a $225 per day allowance for board, lodging, and incidental expenses.

Provides reimbursement for actual air travel expenses incurred by neighbor island commissioners in carrying out their duties.

Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 269-2(b) to add the travel expense provisions to commissioner compensation.

Intended to help attract qualified candidates from neighbor islands and increase diversity on the Public Utilities Commission by offsetting significant travel costs.

Effective January 1, 2050.
