S.B. 774 Summary

• Board of Dentistry shall adopt rules establishing a regulatory structure for dental assistants certification with two options: basic dental assistants and qualified dental assistants

• Qualified dental assistants must have graduated from high school or earned a general equivalency diploma and successfully passed a certification examination approved by the Board of Dentistry

• Board of Dentistry must submit a report to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2020 detailing progress on rules adopted under this Act

• Act takes effect on July 1, 2050
