SB 955 Summary

• Amends Section 84-17, Hawaii Revised Statutes to require financial disclosure statements of state agency executive directors to be public records available for inspection and duplication.

• Expands the list of state officials whose financial disclosures must be public to include executive directors of every state agency and department, previously limited to directors and their deputies.

• Maintains existing exception that for the Department of the Attorney General, only the Attorney General and First Deputy Attorney General must file public financial disclosures.

• Takes effect upon approval and does not affect rights, duties, or proceedings that occurred before the effective date.
