Hawaii endorses and adopts the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons to support United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 for peace, justice, and strong institutions.

Urges the United States to endorse the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and make nuclear disarmament the centerpiece of U.S. national security policy.

Calls on federal leaders to renounce first-use of nuclear weapons, end the President's sole authority to launch nuclear attacks, remove U.S. nuclear weapons from hair-trigger alert status, and cancel plans to replace the arsenal with enhanced weapons.

Identifies approximately 14,000 nuclear weapons still in existence globally, with over 90 percent held by the United States and Russia, and the remainder by France, China, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Israel, and North Korea.

Directs certified copies be transmitted to the President, Congress leadership, UN Secretary-General, Hawaii's congressional delegation, state Governor, and county mayors.
