Requests the Department of Health to convene a task force to review Hawaii's food security and food safety practices, with focus on food imports including meat, produce, and dairy products.

Task force directed to ensure all food imports comply with the federal Food Safety Modernization Act regarding sourcing, transportation, storage, and distribution from source to point of sale.

Task force directed to develop recommendations preventing misleading labeling or advertising of imported foods that falsely suggest Hawaii origin or same freshness as locally produced food.

Task force composition includes the Director of Health, two Senate members, House Agriculture Committee chairperson, House Health Committee chairperson, one University of Hawaii agriculture professor, and two Hawaii-based food distribution business owners.

Task force must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2021 Regular Session and dissolves on June 30, 2021.
