• The state has over 300 office assistant positions and 50 secretary positions currently vacant that the apprenticeship program aims to fill.

• The Department of Human Resources Development shall recruit applicants and register them for the Honolulu Community College Office Administrative Assistant Apprenticeship Program during Fall 2020 semester.

• The Department of Human Resources Development must provide a report to the Legislature before the end of Fall 2020 semester detailing enrollment numbers in the apprenticeship program.

• The program provides professional preparation in office administration skills including keyboarding, word processing, file management, correspondence preparation, scheduling, and customer service.

• Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Board of Regents, University of Hawaii President, Honolulu Community College Chancellor, Department of Human Resources Development Director, and Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
