Request Legislative Reference Bureau, in consultation with Attorney General, to submit report on employment discrimination protections for employees at sectarian schools and religious institutions

Report must include information on federal and state law exemptions for sectarian schools and religious institutions from discrimination protections, including protections for employees with non-religious job duties

Report must include recommendations for expanding discrimination protections for employees at sectarian schools and religious institutions, including any proposed legislation

Report due to Legislature no later than twenty days prior to convening of Regular Session of 2021

Resolution prompted by January 2020 dismissal of middle school director from Maryknoll School in Honolulu for being pregnant and unmarried despite sixteen years of service with secular employment responsibilities
