Request that the Department of Education submit a report to the Legislature by 20 days prior to the 2021 Regular Session on progress implementing Act 51's computer science education mandates

Act 51 (2018) provided $500,000 to develop a statewide computer science curriculum for K-12 students and mandated each public high school offer at least one computer science course beginning in the 2021-2022 school year

Report must include the statewide curriculum plan, list of 2021-2022 computer science courses at each high school with syllabi and curriculum outlines, teacher names, and details on teacher development contracts

Report must identify barriers to implementation, recommendations to overcome those barriers, and an accounting of how the $500,000 appropriation was spent

Copies of the resolution to be sent to the Governor, Board of Education Chairperson, Superintendent of Education, Office of Curriculum and Instructional Design leadership, and all public high school principals
