Department of Accounting and General Services is requested to conduct a study on alternatives for rehabilitating and renovating the State Capitol reflecting pool.

Study must address repair of existing damage, restoration of the pool and related building elements, waterproofing to prevent water infiltration, and reduction of water volume and consumption.

Study alternatives must conform to the Secretary of the Interior's standards for rehabilitation of historic places and provide ways to constrain costs within the estimated budget of $1,200,000 for design and $14,000,000 for construction.

Study must be developed in collaboration with the State Historic Preservation Division, University of Hawaii School of Architecture, Hawaii State Council of the American Institute of Architects, and Department of Accounting and General Services.

Upon completion, the Department of Accounting and General Services must submit the study to the Legislature for comment and approval.
