• Request the Department of Health's Developmental Disabilities Division to identify potential sources of funding to subsidize development of affordable housing for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Acknowledge that individuals with developmental disabilities are disproportionately low-income and often priced out of neighborhoods due to rising rental costs and diminishing affordable housing options.

• Recognize that Supplemental Security Income payments are insufficient to cover rental costs for studio units in Hawaii, particularly in areas where necessary services are available.

• Require the Developmental Disabilities Division to submit a report of findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the Legislature prior to the 2021 Regular Session.

• Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Governor and Director of Health.
