S.C.R. No. 80 Summary

• Urges the Department of Transportation to study traffic patterns within a one-half mile radius of the intersection of Hawaii Belt Road and Lotus Blossom Lane on the island of Hawaii and assess pedestrian crossing dangers in the area.

• Requests the Department of Transportation develop a plan to create a safe pedestrian crossing mechanism across Hawaii Belt Road in the designated area.

• Requires the Department of Transportation to submit a report of findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2021.

• Directs certified copies of the resolution be sent to the Director of the Department of Transportation and the Mayor of the County of Hawaii.
