S.R. NO. 182 Summary

• Department of Agriculture requested to update lease agreements for lands used pursuant to Act 90, Session Laws of Hawaii 2003, to ensure long-term productive use of public lands for agricultural purposes.

• Department of Agriculture, Board of Agriculture, and Board of Land and Natural Resources requested to hold public hearings to review and update leases related to management of existing non-agricultural park lands under Act 90.

• Department of Agriculture required to submit report to Legislature no later than twenty days before Regular Session of 2021 on status of entering into updated lease agreements with Department of Land and Natural Resources.

• Report must include list of all lands transferred pursuant to Act 90, list of all lands not yet transferred with explanations, and proposed legislation if necessary.

• Certified copy of resolution to be transmitted to Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture.
