• State has over 300 office assistant positions and 50 secretary positions currently vacant.

• Department of Human Resources Development shall recruit applicants and register them for the Honolulu Community College Office Administrative Assistant Apprenticeship Program during Fall 2020 semester.

• Program prepares participants for entry-level office assistant positions in state government through instruction in office equipment, software, filing, correspondence preparation, and customer service skills.

• Department of Human Resources Development shall provide a report to the Legislature prior to the end of Fall 2020 semester on enrollment numbers in the apprenticeship program.

• Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Board of Regents, University of Hawaii President, Honolulu Community College Chancellor, Department of Human Resources Development Director, and Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
