Repeals section 171-8.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, which established the Koke'e State Park Advisory Council.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources determined the advisory council fulfilled its purpose after the Koke'e State Park master plan was completed in 2014.

Reports that the Koke'e State Park Advisory Council has not met for over five years as part of the fiscal biennium 2021-2023 program review to reduce expenditures and eliminate programs of marginal benefit.

The council previously consisted of nine voting members appointed by the governor, speaker of the house, and president of the senate, plus four ex-officio nonvoting members, with responsibilities including master plan updates, cabin lease management, and resource preservation.

Takes effect upon approval.
