HB 1293 - Remote Work Transition Grant Program

• Establishes a remote work transition grant program within the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to assist businesses in converting to virtual offices or building remote work capabilities.

• Grants may cover expenses including business technology equipment, home office equipment, and partial residential utility costs associated with remote work transitions.

• Prioritizes grant awards to businesses demonstrating substantial year-over-year revenue reduction, small business status, or ability to reduce office occupancy or employee commute miles.

• Requires annual certification and documentation of grant expenditures by awardees, with liability to the State for any funds not used in accordance with program rules.

• Appropriates $1,000,000 for fiscal year 2021-2022 and $1,000,000 for fiscal year 2022-2023 to implement the grant program; effective July 1, 2021.
