• Mandates that personnel administering seizure medications receive training either through an adopted department training program or by a physician, advanced practice registered nurse, or physician assistant on seizure recognition and first aid.

• Requires all principals, guidance counselors, and teachers to complete at least one hour of annual self-study review of seizure disorder materials developed by medical professionals.

• Requires schools to establish and distribute a seizure action plan for each student certified with a seizure disorder, identifying trained employees and contact methods for emergency situations.

• Exempts schools from requirements if they have no enrolled students with a diagnosed seizure disorder or seizure rescue medication prescriptions; provides liability immunity for school employees administering seizure medications in good faith.
