HB 718 Summary

• Establishes the "Fair Share Health Care Disclosure Act" requiring the Department of Human Services to compile data on employers with employees receiving public assistance benefits.

• Department must submit a report to the legislature no later than 20 days before the 2024 regular session identifying the 50 employers with the highest number of public assistance recipients.

• Report must include for each employer: business address, number of full-time and part-time employees, number of recipient employees, number of recipient spouses or dependents, state cost of providing assistance, and number of recipients eligible for employer-provided health benefits.

• Report must not disclose names or personally identifiable information of any employees, spouses, or dependents.

• Department of Labor and Industrial Relations must assist by sharing employment data with the Department of Human Services; effective date is July 1, 2060.
