Requests convening of the Charter School Authorizers Working Group to examine the Hawaii State Public Charter School Commission's role and relationship with charter schools

Working group membership includes co-chairs from Senate and House Education Committees, Board of Education Chair, Charter Commission Chair and Executive Director, Attorney General representative, Hawaii State Ethics Commission representative, and representatives from conversion/Hawaiian immersion schools and charter schools on Oahu and neighbor islands

Group directed to examine administrative rules the Charter Commission should promulgate and any legislation needed to accomplish the Commission's goals, with recommendations incorporating national best practices and focused on positive student outcomes

Working group required to meet in May, July, September, and November 2021

Working group must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2022 Regular Session convenes
