Requests the Legislative Reference Bureau to conduct a study on business liability protections related to COVID-19-related claims.

Study must survey modifications enacted by the federal government and other states to business liability protections and workplace safety guidance in response to COVID-19.

Study must compare existing Hawaii laws relating to business liability protections and workplace safety guidance with similar federal and state laws.

Legislative Reference Bureau must submit the study with findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the Regular Session of 2022.

Certified copies must be transmitted to the Director of the Legislative Reference Bureau, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, and President of the Retail Merchants of Hawaii.
