Urges the Board of Education and Department of Education to support and implement community schools as an equity strategy for increasing access to high-quality education and addressing COVID-19 learning loss

Identifies community schools as providing comprehensive programs and services to address student barriers including housing instability, inadequate medical and dental care, hunger, trauma, and violence exposure

Notes that during the 2019-2020 school year, 47 percent of public school students were economically challenged and 84,993 students qualified for free and reduced-price lunch programs

Establishes four key pillars of community schools approach: integrated student supports, expanded and enriched learning time and opportunities, active family engagement, and collaborative leadership

Directs transmission of certified copies to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Chairperson of the Board of Education, and Superintendent of Education
