Urges the Governor of Hawaii to appoint a Native Hawaiian special assistant to serve in the Office of the Governor during the 2021 legislative session.

The special assistant would serve as a liaison between the Native Hawaiian community and the Governor to strengthen communication and address social and economic issues affecting Native Hawaiians.

The position would provide policy direction, collaborate with stakeholders on legislative priorities, and serve as a direct point of contact for the Native Hawaiian community to voice concerns to the Governor.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Chairperson of the Hawaiian Homes Commission, and Chair of the House Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs Committee.
