Urges the University of Hawaii System and Department of Education to include training, courses, and curricula related to mechanics, repair, and maintenance of electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, and other alternative fuel vehicles in their programs

Notes that Hawaii currently has over 10,000 electric vehicles on the road and ranks in the top five states nationally for electric vehicle adoption based on percentage of vehicles purchased

Identifies that only an estimated three percent of automotive technicians have the skill set to work on electric vehicles, despite the need for special tools, safety equipment, and technician training

States that the transportation sector accounts for over two-thirds of oil imported into Hawaii, with drivers spending nearly $2 billion annually on gasoline and diesel fuel

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Regents of the University of Hawaii, President of the University of Hawaii System, Chairperson of the Board of Education, and Superintendent of Education
