HI SB1015

Expands the comptroller's duties to assess office space requirements for state agencies in facilities managed by the department of accounting and general services or non-state facilities.

Grants the comptroller authority to initiate or cancel leases, renegotiate existing leases, authorize office space allocation, and determine telework infrastructure requirements based on agency needs.

Requires the comptroller to reduce the total square footage of space leased by the State by 10 percent no later than July 1, 2026, using July 1, 2021 as the baseline measurement.

Mandates the comptroller to submit progress reports to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to each regular session convening beginning in 2022.

Effective upon approval.
